Powering a Green Future: Communities,
Nature and Action

Patitas Azules' commitment to the residents of the Galapagos Islands

Our initiative brings together Galaxy Cruises, local communities, and key partners in a joint effort to promote environmental conservation, foster sustainable development, and enhance the quality of life in the destinations where we operate. Our commitment is to build a prosperous future for all communities, ensuring a balance between nature and human well-being through our social programs.

Our Programs

Growing Together: Education for the Future (2024–2025)

We run an interactive educational program for students, providing them with guidance on career opportunities, with a special emphasis on sustainable tourism and environmental conservation. In addition, we recognize academic achievement by rewarding the best students with unique learning experiences and contact with nature.

Living Well: Our Commitment (2024–2025)

Galaxy Cruises regularly organizes educational talks in schools to promote education, prevention, and community well-being. We aim to raise awareness about the importance of living a healthy and environmentally responsible life.

Galaxy Expeditions: Responsible Tourism and Environmental Conservation (2024–2025)

Galaxy Cruises reaffirms its commitment to environmental conservation and sustainability through collaboration with various associations and organizations dedicated to protecting the environment in the different destinations where we operate around the world. Through these partnerships, we promote concrete actions to protect marine and terrestrial ecosystems, manage natural resources responsibly, and encourage sustainable tourism practices. In addition, our entire fleet uses certified eco-friendly paint that does not harm the sea, reinforcing our commitment to ocean preservation. These collaborations strengthen community projects, cleanup campaigns, environmental education programs, and strategies that promote ecological awareness among residents, visitors, and strategic partners.

Environmental Commitment: Innovation and Marine Conservation (2024–2025)

Our vessels are engineered to minimize their ecological footprint. We have implemented advanced treatment plants for black water and bilge, ensuring flawless waste management that prevents ocean pollution. This effort is complemented by the use of tin-free antifouling paints and 100% biodegradable cleaning products. Furthermore, we optimize energy efficiency across our entire fleet through low-consumption LED technology. As a benchmark for sustainability, our EcoGalaxy catamaran leads the fleet with state-of-the-art engineering, significantly reducing CO₂ emissions and fuel consumption to pioneer more responsible tourism.

Guardians of the Earth: Reusables for a Clean Future (2024–2025)

At Galaxy Cruises, we promote the use of reusable products to reduce single-use plastic consumption and strengthen a culture of sustainability across all our operations. On board our vessels, we maintain a single-use plastic–free policy, reaffirming our commitment to environmental protection and the adoption of responsible alternatives that contribute to the well-being of the planet.

Galaxy Cruises Green: Responsible Recycling (2024–2025)

Galaxy Cruises drives a recycling culture within the company through educational workshops and recycling stations in key areas. Our goal is to reduce non-recycled waste by 30% and create a team of “Green Ambassadors” committed to sustainability.
